Honduras Ratifies Important IMO Instruments

Honduras has acceded to two important IMO instruments covering the prevention of pollution from ships – MARPOL Annex VI, which deals with prevention of air pollution from ships and energy efficiency, and the international treaty on oil pollution preparedness, response and cooperation (OPRC).

Honduras has also acceded to the International Mobile Satellite Organization (IMSO) Convention. IMO Secretary-General Kitack Lim received H. E. Mr. Ivan Romero-Martinez, Ambassador of Honduras to the United Kingdom (pictured, right), and Mr. Roberto E. Cardona, General Director of Merchant Marine (pictured, left), who deposited the instruments of accession, at IMO Headquarters, London.
