JNPT-APEC Training Centre Conducts 8th seminar on ‘Port Engineering’ at Nhava Sheva
In one of its kind port institute in the world, JNPT-APEC Training Centre concluded the 8th seminar on ‘Port Engineering’ which elongated for 5 days, from Nov 28 to Dec 02, 2016 at Sheva, Navi Mumbai.
JNPT-APEC Training Centre is a cooperation institute between Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) and Port of Antwerp to provide training and share knowledge & expertise to Port professionals.
More than 15 professionals, who mostly came from various Indian Major Ports, participated in this seminar to learn on various topics that were focused on all engineering aspects making a port terminal a well-oiled machine. Topics including – handling of equipment, reporting & statistics, planning to construction and implementation to delivery of services, infrastructure and equipment, dredging, aids to navigation, civil structures, maintenance contracts & procurement and contract management were highlighted by the renowned experts.
The training was conducted by Mr Jan De Meyer, Mr WIM De Rycke and Mr Marc SAS who interacted and shared their experiences with the professionals. The professionals acknowledged to have learned more about the port concepts and specification to the implementation and construction, in where a special focus was put on post commissioning strategies such as maintenance and maintenance contracts, asset management and delivering highly available and performing infrastructure & equipment to the operational department.
JNPT-APEC Training Centre emphasizes to create a learning environment for the benefit of the Port professionals to further pursue growth and expertise in the sector.
