Russia’s Passenger Port Welcomes Six Cruise Ships

Six-at-Port-of-Saint-PetersburgSix cruise ships are reported to have arrived at the passenger port of Saint Petersburg on the 9th of July leading to full berth occupancy at the port.

The ships are reported to have carried a total of 13,397 passengers.

The ships to have arrived were the Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Cruises from Royal Carribean, Empress from Pullmantur Cruises, Norwegian Star from Norwegian Cruise Line, Queen Elizabeth from Carnival Corporation & plc, Marina from Prestige Cruise Holdings Inc. and MCS Sinfonia from MSC Cruises.

The port has a draft of up to 8.8 m. The length and depth of new access channels, 10 km and 11 m, respectively. The port operates seven piers with a total length of 2,171.06 m which enables it to accommodate cruise and ferry ships of up to 330 m long.

Marine Façade passenger port of St. Petersburg is the largest passenger seaport in Russia. Marine Façade is the only port in the North-Western region of Russia. The port is located on the alluvial areas of Vasilievsky Island.
